In the late 1800s, the scare was over global cooling. In the 1930s, the New York Times warned about global warming causing worldwide flooding. By the 1970s, global cooling was chic again – and now we’re back to global warming.
In fact, the only consistent message is one of fear – and the need for greater government control over our lives and liberty.
